Robert Lebron discovered his passion for art at an early
age. After moving from New York to Puerto Rico he spent his early years with his fisherman
cousin who told Lebron about the perils of the sea. Inspired by these tales, Lebron and
his cousin would illustrate these stories on old paper bags. But it wasnt until he
returned to New York a few years later that his talent was recognized when he won
admission to New York Citys prestigious high school for music and art.
His paintings continue to reflect his favorite theatrical
and literary heroes. Many of the details in his paintings feature favorite characters from
his childhood including a tiny dog (present in each painting) inspired by the comic strip,
"Dickie Dare."
