Nancy Howe is one of the nations most talented
painters, although she has an associates degree in studio art, she is a self-taught
wildlife and landscape artist.
Over the years she has won many awards and honors, but in
1990 Howes career took three big jumps. The first came when her painting was
selected for the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museums Exhibition, "Wildlife: The
Artists View." Another painting was then chosen as a "Top 100" winner
in the 1990 Arts for the Parks competition. And in 1991 she won the prestigious Federal
Duck Stamp competition. No artist has won these three honors in such a brief span, or even
in a career. Most recently Howe was featured artist at the Southeastern Wildlife
Exhibition in Charleston, SC, in 1999.
