A retired vice president of Northwest Airlines, Moon
returned to a full-time art career in 1987. Living the experience before each painting is
Moons prerequisite, so to understand lions he lived with the late George Adamson of
"Born Free" fame in Africa.
His African experience with big cats shaped his interest
in domestic cats and confirmed his lifetime association with dogs. What followed was
another unpredictable series of offbeat whimsical art for which he has become so popular.
His cats and dogs in various artful pursuits have
delighted collectors across the United States, Canada, Britain, and Japan. While his
whimsical art is admired by people who love his humor and style, his serious works are in
the permanent collections of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum, the United States Air Force
Academy, and the Army and Navy Club in Washington D.C.
